Most reading apps are built to log a book and move on. Some readers don't. If you read across adult fantasy and romantasy, keep a dozen series going at once, and wait a year or more between releases, the details fade. Who betrayed whom, where you stopped, what happened in book three.

The Codex keeps all of it in one place: every series and where you left off, the characters, the quotes, the tropes, and your own notes. It isn't a leaderboard or a reading challenge. It's a record you can actually use.

How it's made

The reading orders, character profiles, and ratings come from reading the books, not scraping a database. The Codex itself ships spoiler-free. Where a recap or plot detail could spoil you, it sits behind a gate you choose to open, so you can look up a character while you're on book two without learning how their story ends. The free guides on this site follow the same rule. How a reading order gets compiled is written out on a separate page.

What we believe

Your reading life is yours. The Codex is a one-time purchase you own, with no subscription, no ads, and no data sold about you. Book links go through Bookshop.org, which shares its proceeds with independent bookstores.
